Greetings everyone! My name is Debra Anne. I write GIPSY in the PARLOUR from my home in Litchfield County Connecticut USA, where I feature Art & Craft, Cocktails, Flora & Fauna, Recipes, Treasure & Verse. Our lovely friend Deidre has welcomed me into her Parlour here to guest blog & share something special with all of you... I am forever honored.
When Deidre 1st approached me, I told her I've always thought of guest blogging as being invited into someones home for tea & cakes. So here we are, do sit & stay a spell with us... grab a cup of tea paired with something sweet.
Deidre & I share a love of simplicity & thriftiness. I'm always looking for unique containers for floral design & stumbled upon this wonderful copper box for $5 at our local Salvation Army: inexpensive, yet substantial enough to hold my enormous Dahlias!!
I've been growing Dahlias for 8 years & although in my zone I have to dig them up every autumn, they are well worth the trouble. They produce from late July till October end & if you invite me to your home during this time, you'll be presented with a glorious long lasting floral arrangement similar to the one I've illustrated for you below [& I'll insist you keep the container!].
To learn more about Dahlias, visit the American Dahlia Society.

I'd sure love to get to know you all.... stop by & visit me here anytime ;-)
